David Hockney is a famous artist who studies pop art and minimalistic cubism. He was born in 1937 July 9 and was educated in Braford school of arts.
His work is very minimalistic and relies heavily on shapes. The art that David
Hockney makes tends to have very bold and vibrant colours, this is because David Hockney uses traditional acrylics which gives the cold colour design.
Many of David Hockney's art is related to water and liquids. This is due to the fact that David Hockney's theme is based off of water. The meaning behind most of his paintings is centred around joy, and lighter days in the future.
The work that David Hockney creates is interesting because of its minimalistic pop art style. The work can be very simple, and the shapes can be very blocky, however the atmosphere the art creates can carry a very positive feeling.
MY STUDY
For this study, I used the David Hockney polaroid style on my portrait. This was completed by using the polaroid to zoom into multiple areas of my face.
